The
Port of Echuca is an authentic working river port providing students
with the opportunity to learn in a unique historic environment. Tread
the boards of the giant red gum wharf; learn of the exciting and bustling
river trade of the 1800s, absorb true tales of the Murray River and
the Star Hotel’s underground bar and secret escape tunnel from
days of old.
The Port of Echuca offers educational and exciting one hour tours
of the historic wharf, red gum sawmill site and Star Hotel, while
one hour cruises on steam driven paddlesteamers P.S. Pevensey of
‘All the Rivers Run’ fame, the oldest wooden paddlesteamer
in the world P.S. Adelaide and P.S. Alexander Arbuthnot operate
daily.
The Port of Echuca is pleased to offer students a unique outdoor
learning experience; a cost saving when both the Port Tour and Cruise
are selected and additional attractions in the port precinct can
be booked through us on request.
Upon booking your excursion a free Teachers Resource Pack will
be posted to your school and students receive complementary souvenir
on arrival.
The Port is suitable to all student age groups from early primary
years through to secondary and tertiary levels. Student participation
